What is your foundation?

A Rasta Elder I met outside of a Tabernacle in Nassau, The Bahamas once asked me:

“What is your foundation?”

I offered him my answer, and he distilled it beautifully to:

“So - you believe that we all live in a common struggle and that we must work together for our collective liberation.”

Few questions are more important than this - especially for those of us who seek to innovate and transform the institutions that govern society and give meaning to our lives—systems of governance, education, health and wellness, religious and spiritual systems, cultural institutions, etc. Or, if you’re like me, D. ALL OF THE ABOVE!!!

As Nadia Bolz-Weber—the popular Minister from the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America—has said, “I really feel strongly that you have to be deeply rooted in tradition in order to innovate with integrity.”

The foundation of all of the work I do at the IEBL is to help my clients and students establish foundations for their lives and dreams—whether that means confirming what they’ve held for awhile or developing new ones. Above all else, when you work with me, you can guarantee that I will be rooted and that I will help you root into a balance between yourself, your own knowing, and the knowledge and forms of knowledge best suited to take you where you want to go.

My mission has always been to facilitate the healing and liberation of the planet and I will keep going until that happens …
