In my last post, I discussed that I value questions and they ways they're asked. In this post, I am sharing my research questions. These are primary and overarching questions in the research. They are not the same questions that I will ask the people I interview, but they inform those questions.
The primary question I want to answer by engaging in this research is:
What is the relationship between (1) Earth-based food, medicine, and spiritual practices and (2) the motivations and values underlying them according to practitioners I encounter on the Rose Hip Road Trip?
My secondary questions are:
- Who are participants (from their own perspectives and the perspectives of those referring them)?
- Where are participants engaging in these practices?
- What are participants’ Earth-based food, medicine, and spiritual practices and how are they defined?
- Why do participants engage in these Earth-based practices?
As I move through this project interviewing people from many different backgrounds and in many different landscapes, I will continue to return to these questions and create a mosaic of answers.
